Further to my letter of 31 August (not copied to FCO), I enclose a copy of a letter addressed to the editor of 'The Times' by the President of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong. This is a further illustration of the lingering dissatisfaction caused by Mr Cryer's remarks about Hong Kong labour conditions in a parliamentary debate on 24 July.
2. Although the letter to 'The Times' was dated 1 September and a copy clearly marked to the Trade Commission, I received the copy only yesterday under cover of a letter from the Association's Assistant Secretary. I have sent a simple acknowledgement.
