In making appointment under paragraph one, at least three members shall be appointed from the employer party and three from the employee party.
A member of the Wage Committee shall hold office for a term of two years and is eligible for re-appointment.
Clause 6
The Wage Committee shall have the duty to consider and submit proposal to the Government to fix a National Wage Policy, and shall have the duty to fix the minimum wage which an employee should receive and be able to subsist by himself.
In fixing the rates of minimum wage, the Committee shall study and consider all factors concerning wages received by employee s in comparison with wages of other employees engaged in the work of similar character and conditions including standard of living, location, cost of production and business capability, price of goods as well as level of employment and economic and social situation of the country at that time.
Clause 7
The minimum wage may be fixed for any or all categories of industries throughout the Kingdom or for any or all categories of industries in any one locality.
Clause 8
The Wage Committee shall have the power to appoint sub- committees or working groups to study and submit recommendation in the matters assigned to them.
Clause 11
The Wage Committee shall submit to the Minister at least once a year, a report concerning wage conditions, trend of wages and measures to be taken.
Clause 14
After studying all factors prescribed in Clause 6, the Committee shall fix the rates of minimum wages together with other information as it may been appropriate and submit to the Minister for publication in the Government Gazette.
Clause 17
The notification prescribing the rates of minimum wage under Clause 7 shall apply to all employers and employees irrespective of race, nationality or sex.
