The wages established in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter shall not be less than the standard prevailing minimum

wages in the industry on the effective date of this Code and in no case less than the minimum wage rates set forth in Chapter II of this Title. These wages may include wages varying with localities if, the judgment of the Commission and the Secretary of Labour, conditions make such local differentation proper and necessary to effectuate the purposes of this Title.
Presidential Decree No. 928 of 1st May 1976 providing for a new statutory minimum wage
Section 1
The minimum wage rate for non-agricultural workers in the Metropolitan Manila Area shall be ten pesos (10.00) a day.
Section 2
The minimum wage rate for non-agricultural workers in areas outside the Metropolitan Manila Area shall be nine pesos (F9.00)
Section 3
The minimum wage rate for agricultural workers in plantations or organised agriculture shall be seven pesos (P7.00) a day.
Section 4
The minimum wage rate for agricultural workers in all other types of agriculture shall be six pesos (6.00) a day.
