The Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, exempt the employment of female workmen in any particular industry or in any industrial undertaking or any branch thereof or in any kind of labour from the provisions of subsection (1) of this section where he is satisfied, on an application made to him in that behalf, that it is desirable in the public interest to do so for the prupose of main- taining or increasing the efficiency of industry.

(6) No child (i) or young person (ii) shall be employed as a work- man during the night or any part thereof.
Notes: (i) In this Act, "child" means a person who has not
completed his fourteenth year of age. The minimum age for employment is 12.
(ii) In this Act, "young person" means any person who has not completed his sixteenth year of age.

Clause 16
The employer shall not employ a female employee to work between 24:00 hours and 06:00 hours, except for work of such nature that it must be performed continously or in shifts, or is of such nature and condition that it must be performed between the said hours.
Clause 23
The employer shall not employ a child from the age of twelve years to fifteen years of age to work between 22:00 hours and 06:00 hours; except that the child is an actor in a motion picture or play or other show business of similar nature, provided, however, that the child shall be arranged to have reasonable rest period during such duration.
