Qualifying conditions

As prescribed by the Social Security System (SSS) and the Government

Service Insurance System (GSIS) and approved by the Medical Care Commission.

For paid sick leave:

12 months' service and after examinat- ion by a qualified medical officer.

Benefits

Hospitalisation expense benefit:

Confinement in hospital for 45 days in one calendar year subject to a maximum of 12 pesos (HK$7.20) a day for room and board expenses, and 150 pesos (HK$90) for special charges e.g. lab exam fees, drugs, x-rays,| operating room, etc.

Surgical expense -benefit:-

Not exceeding 50 pesos (HK$30) for a minor operation, 150 pesos (HK$90) for a medium operation and 350 pesos (HK$210) for a major operation.

Medical expense benefit:

5 pesos (HK$3) for each daily.... visit to clinic/hospital. Maximum for each sickness or injury:

100 pesos (HK$60)

Paid sick leave:

14 days a year;

60 days a year if hospitalisation is required.
