Contract of employment
A contract must be in writing if the specified period exceeds one month.
An employee who has rendered one year's service will be regarded as a regular employee.
A contract for probationary employment must not exceed f months.
Notice for termination
At least 1 week's notice for less than 2 years' service.
At least 2 weeks' notice for 2 but less than 5 years' service.
At least 4 weeks' notice for 5 or more years of service.
Ar payment in lieu of such
notice or part thereof.
Termination by employer: application for clearance by the Labour Department is required.
Termination by employee: advance notice of at least 30 days.
Severance payment
No legislation. Any such payment is t subject of collective agreements betwe employers and employees.

For redundarey or termination due to installation of labour-saving devices

For retrenchment due to prevention of losses
