ILO Meeting of Experts on
Problems concerning Air Traffic Controllers
We are pleased to inform you that the above meeting will be convened in Geneva early next year.
The agenda for the meeting will include the following items:
i) The air traffic control system;
ii)
iii)
iv)
v)
Conditions of employment and service of controllers; The controller's jobs and his working environment; Occupational health problems;
Labour-management relations.
Our headquarters in Geneva would be preparing the working document for this Meeting of Experts. They would like to have detailed information from you on each of the above topics before May 31, 1978 for preparing the document as well as for future activities in the field.
We wish to advise you that the information to be assembled should consist not only of straightforward statistics, descriptions and documents about the topics and issues, but also, and this is just as important although probably more difficult to obtain, of analyses, reports and evaluations of the difficulties, constraints, contradictions and obstacles that might have been encountered in defining, establishing, applying and operating the various principles, criteria and policies connected with the running of an air traffic control system. To provide a better understanding of the agenda a brief description of each agenda item is shown separately in the annexure.
We shall be grateful if you will kindly supply comprehensive information on the above items in respect of Hong Kong so as to ensure that the afore- mentioned document will contain all relevant information about the country.
