1. Mr Rogers may chair a tripartitè meeting between Hong Kong Government, CPA and DOT on 5/6 October to discuss Gulf Air's proposed service to Hong Kong (talks with the Gulf States should subsequently take place same time at the end of October or in November).

2. On 10 October, Mr Standen and Mr Ager will begin 3 days' talks with the Saudi's in Jedda. We had no clear indication what the Saudis, who called for these talks, want to achieve.

3. Mr Rogers will lead a UK delegation to Ottawa for 1-2 weeks starting on 16 October. We have minuted separately on these talks.

4. Mr Steele will lead the UK delegation for talks with the US in Washington beginning 30 October. The talks will cover the whole spectrum of UK/US Air Services, but in particular will concentrate on Charters (passenger and freight) and the results of the NA low fares "experiment".

5. Mr Steele has offered talks at the end of September or in early Ocotber to the Spaniards and Portuguese, to discuss the transfer of Iberian traffic from LHR to LGW. (The Spanish have replied, stonewalling the idea).
