Thank you for your letter of 21 February. United Kingdom delegation will be pleased to participate in preliminary discussions on the formation of a "contact group" of countries that have already adhered to the Tokyo, The Hague, and Montreal Conventions. and Commonwealth Office had informed me that I would be hearing from you. They also sent me a copy of a paper outlining the aims of the projected group which has been left with the Maritime, Aviation and Environment Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office by a delegation composed of representatives of the Netherlands, Federal Republic of Germany, Japanese and United States Embassies
in London.
Since Mr Fifoot and/or Miss Harden will attend the meeting on 8 March in your Mission and any subsequent meetings of the contact group, you may find it convenient to get in touch with them directly in future.
