THE PRIME MINISTER
MON
10 DOWNING STREET
27 October 1978
Thank you for your letter of 12 October.
I am very heartened by the improvement in our relations
with China. My talks with Foreign Minister Huang Hua
earlier this month were both cordial and successful, and
we touched on your proposals for electrification into
Kwangtung.
I invited Chairman Hua to visit Britain next year,
and I look forward to taking up the invitation extended to
me by the Chinese when the Parliamentary situation here
allows. I should then certainly like to visit Hong Kong,
if I can, and would be delighted to accept your offer to
see the work our companies are doing for you.
