ANNEX T
Dear Sir
re Proposed Power Generation Station on Lamma Is :
We refer you to the above subject matter and the proposed site at Po Lo Tsui, which appears to have been approved by Government in principle. Unfortunately, apart from making quite farcical its own programme of environmental control and planning, Government has not deigned to clarify the criterion behind its approval, even if in principle only, for the projection of this effluent orientated development in one of the most populated areas of Lam- ma Island North.
However, the purpose of this letter is not to unequivocally chal- lenge the right of the developer to construct a major power plant on Lamma, but to contest the wisdom of those individuals involved in the selection of the site in question. It is fervently hoped therefore, that an alternative site in a more remote and less densely inhabited area of this large island may be suggested by your department, in order to quickly allay the misgivings and fears of the great majority of the humble fisherfolk and vegetable farmers of Lamma Island.
In conclusion Sir, we the Executive Committee of the Lamma Island Fishermen's Recreation and Sport Association, wish to go on the record, as very emphatically objecting to the proposed construc- tion of a power generating installation at Po Lo Tsui, Lamma Is- land.

Very sincerely
