TELECOMMUNICATIONS.

(G) SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AND RELIABILITY.

4.1 SITE DEVELOPMENT

BEI WILL ADVISE ON THE SUITABILITY OF FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR

DEVELOPMENT OF THE SITE.

4.2.1 EVALUATION DURING CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS

BE! WILL ASSIST KESCO IN ANY FURTHER TECHNICAL EVALUATION

RELEVANT TO THE EQUIPMENT TO BE SUPPLIED UNDER THE GEC CONTRACT.

4.2.2 EVALUATION IN UK. DURING DESIGN STAGE

BEI WILL:

(A) ASSIST KESCO IN MONITORING ALL THE ACTIVITIES OF GEC AND THEIR SUB-CONTRACTORS INCLUDING PLANNING, WORK SCHEDULING AND DESIGN PROGRESSION TO ENSURE THAT THE DESIGN WORK BEING UNDERTAKEN

CONFORMS WITH THE OVERALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROJECT:

(B) EXAMINE ON BEHALF OF KESCO, OR JOINTLY WITH KESCO, PLANT DESIGN PROPOSALS SUBMITTED BY GEC AND THEIR SUB-CONTRACTORS IN

RELATION TO THE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTABILITY, RELIABILITY, SATISFACTORY AND ECONOMIC OPERATION AND MINIMUM

CAPITAL COST.

(C) NOMINATE A MEMBER OF THE BEI PERSONNEL AS RESPONSIBLE OFFICER WHO WILL HAVE DIRECT ACCESS TO AND THE ASSISTANCE OF SENIOR

ENGINEERING DESIGN STAFF IN THE FIELDS OF BOILERS, TURBINE- GENERATORS, FEED HEATING AND CONDENSING PLANT, ELECTRICAL PLANT,

CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION EQUIPMENT, AUXILIARY MECHANICAL

PLANT, THERMODYNAMIC CYCLES, PLANNING, AND STATION LAYOUT,

COOLING WATER SYSTEM AND COAL AND ASH HANDLING PLANT.

(D) SUBMIT QUARTERLY PROGRESS REPORTS TO KESCO.

4.2.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE

BEI WILL:

(A) PROVIDE QUALITY ASSURANCE SERVICES TO KESCO ON PLANT, EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS FOR THE POWER STATION.
