The German Delegation agreed with the Commission representative that garments of the T-shirts type with collar fell in category 4 but the UK Delegation drew attention to the definition of T-shirts in Regulation 2811/77 which

specified "no collar".

The questions of suits, costumes, etc. was subject to further discussion

in the CCT Nomenclature Committee on 13 14 July. The German Delegation made

the point that they would expect the components of each suit to be packed together

On gloves, the Commission representative drew attention to problems where the Philippines were concerned but said that category 11 would generally apply subject to exceptional cases.

The Commission representative said that the NIMEXE references in relation

to category 21 tended to limit the category, inter alia, to windcheaters which

were woven but not impregnated or coated. It appeared that the latter fell in categories 78 or 81.

The Commission representative confirmed that skipants fell in category 6 but the German Delegation reported that the South Korean were taking a contrary

view.

The German Delegation also reported a problem on hostess gowns ex Korea

as to whether they were dresses or nightwear.

Other business

The UK Delegation raised two points. On lorocco vis-à-vis outward process quotas, the Commission representative said that the matter was proper for the

Article 113 Committee in the context of the discussion on preferential countries.

On imports of woven goods grom Argentina, a study was in process. Statistics

had been exchanged in informal contacts with the Argentine Mission.
