increase to the Indian authorities. The UK delegate explained terroneously low figures were given for Hungary during negotiations.
The Commission commented that the mistake had been known for 6 months. They would contact the Indians as the figure for Category 5 had been slightly exceeded.
5. (a) Philippines, India (Category 6)
Miss Rodolphi (Commission) reported that conditions had been agreed with the Philippinos and the Commission put them on a legal basis. Consultations will be held with the Philippinos, possibly at the end of September. On India, the Commission awaited more inform- ation from the UK and would then continue negotiations.
(b) Singapore (Categories 28, 39)
On Category 28 a quantitative restriction had been agreed and the Commission then drew up a regulation. The UK delegate said that Singapore wanted to begin export certification on 24 August. Miss Rodolphi (Commission) said that a Note Verbale had been prepared on Category 39 at the Italian request, asking for consult- ations as soon as possible.
(c) Hong Kong (Category 80)
The UK delegate said no further action was required.
(d) Malaysia
A Note Verbale had been sent as requested by the French delegation. Consultations should take place in the first part of September.
6. The UK delegation outlined a problem on statistics for Basket Exit processing. The Commission agreed to examine the question more closely and return to it next week, either in the Management Committee or in Article 113.

Combed Wool Problems (Argentina, Brazil, Hungary)
Bevan reported for the Commission. The Note Verbale sent to Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay in July bad asked for consultations in September. Uruguay alone had replied, asking what prompted the request. The Commission hoped to analyse Community figures for the first 5 months of the year by next week's meeting.

Peru-Tanguis and Pime
A Note Verbale from the Commission to Peru some time ago had indic- ated that her prices for these items were too low. Peru had agreed
to take action. A recent Note Verbale from Peru asked for additional information on prices in Member States. Bevan asked Member States to comply. A translation of the note will be available wext week.
