Mime le Bail-Elles (Commission) reported that the recent consultations in New Delhi had gone well. The Indians had agreed a limitation (which would be finally certificated) of 110,000 pieces a year
Category 6). They could not accept a limitation for 4 or 5 years as requested, on the grounds that circumstances changed each year. answer to a question from the UK, Mme Elles said that she had pointed out the problems on Jerseys and had given the figures for Category 42.

Committee meeting. The Commission agreed that Jute might be included Re
on the agenda of such a meeting (Dutch request) and discussion on quotas for 1979-82, plus Category 5 (UK requests)..
4. Korea
Boisnon (Commission) listed German difficulties on Categories 37, 30A, 78 and 83 and Luxembourg on Category 21. A Memorandum had been sent to the Korean Mission about 10 days ago on the German problems, with a request that they stop issuing export licenses. The Commission hoped that consultations could be held within 2 or 3 weeks.
5. Hong Kong
reached
Hong Kong wanted to know when the decisions needed by the Nomenclature Committee would be implemented. On 'blousons' the definition would come into force from 1 January "979. Boisnon asked Member States (with the exception of France and Italy) to estimate the qualities in Categories 15B and 17 to be transferred to Category 21. The UK commented that this would be difficult since the absence of a separate Nimexe heading had caused the problem. A short meeting would be arranged with the Hong Kong delegation during the week 5-9 November to finalize the position. There would be an Origin Committee meeting
before this.
6. In answer to a UK question, Doisnon said that the Commission had not received an official request from Hong Kong to increase their imports of trousers to the UK. Hc corrected an error from last week; housecoats will be in Category 26, not Category 23.
He also gave figures of Hong Kong adjustments for 1978.
