The Commission representative circulated a memorandum dated 17 October 1978 containing the Commission's
suggestions for the arrangements to be made for certain products as regards transit traffic originating in Hong Kong.
The Committee held a preliminary exchange of views on this question, following which it was agreed that:
the Management Committee, and subsequently the Committee on Origin, would examine the technical aspects of the Commission's suggestions;
the Article 113 Committee/Working Party on Textiles would examine any general questions at its meeting on 8 November 1978, in order to define a Community position before the formal consultations with Hong Kong on 9 November 1978.
The Commission representative announced that the Commission would prepare a comprehensive document on the matter for the Committee's meeting on 8 November.
