The Committee held a brief exchange of views on this issue, during which the delegations reiterated their positions:
the D delegation considered that in the light of the figures for imports into the Community a basket withdrawal at Community level would not be justified; the B delegation, speaking on behalf of the BENELUX countries, pointed out that it was not making any request in the matter and a basket withdrawal at Community level would create serious difficulties for it;
the I delegation considered a basket withdrawal at Community level essential;
the IRL delegation was inclined to favour a Community basket withdrawal;
- the F delegation said that, in its opinion, to ensure
the widest possible cover for the measures to be taken, there should be a basket withdrawal at Community level, even if it meant excluding those Member States which
