Imports for re-export
Imports of restricted textiles will not be set off against the quotas if they are re-exposted out- side the EEC in the same state or after limited processing. The general import licensing arrangements for restricted textiles re- exported from the UK are set out in notice to importers 1441.
Surveillance
In addition to the textiles covered by this notice, most other textiles from non-EEC countries are subject to UK surveillance licensing arrangements. Descriptions of the goods covered and the licensing arrangements are set out in notices to importers 1484 and 1502.
Telephone inquiries
Traders are requested to refrain from making non-essential inquiries of Import Licensing Branch for the next few weeks, as time spent dealing with these will inevitably delay work on the issue of licences.
