1. The approved amounts of the Asian Development Bank Loans are (a) US$21,500,000 for the construction of a sea water desalting works consisting of 6 Units having a total design output of 40 million gallons a day near Castle Peak in the
New Territories-(Hong Kong P.W.D. Contract No. 302 of 1972) and (b) US$20,000,000 for the construction of part of Stage I of the sewerage and sewage treatment facilities for Sha Tin New Town. 2. The cost of goods financed out of the loans is payable in the respective currencies of the countries from which the goods are acquired, Loan withdrawals are made either in these currencies or in convertible currencies as the Asian Develop-
ment Bank may from time to time elect. 3. Pending withdrawal from the Loan account with the Asian Development Bank expenditure is in the first instance charged to an advance account. Withdrawals are made monthly in arrears. 4. The authority for charging expenditure to an advance account pending reimbursement is in Section 5(2) of the Loans (Asian Development Bank) Ordinance Chapter 271, Laws of Hong Kong. The maximum which may be advanced in any
financial year in connection with (a) the single purpose desalting plant project is HK$100,000,000 and (b) the Sha Tin sewage treatment works stage I project is HK$95,000,000.
