24.
An interim report of the Working Party to consider the extent
to which the Technical Services Agreement has been used has been
completed. A separate working group to review the present
arrangements for the procurement and maintenance of equipment
and to recommend such changes as may be necessary has also been
set up.
25. The V.H. F. station at the Peak is used jointly by several
Government departments. Certain old equipment is already being
replaced, and proposals for the replacement of other equipment are
being considered.

computer facilities
26. The deficiencies in the accounting procedures of the Data
Processing Division are acknowledged. To remedy these, proposals
have been made to strengthen the accounting support service of the
Division to develop the required accounting systems.
27. It is accepted that improved conditions of contract for the hire
of computer services are necessary. Discussions have taken place
with both the Central Computer Agency and the Computer Services
Association in the UK and proposals for change are being formulated
by the Data Processing Manager.
28. The establishment of a panel to examine cases where consultants
are proposed and to select the appropriate computer consultant is under
consideration.
