the most commonly used varieties are those based on aluminium powder sensitisation. The slurry explosive we are currently manufacturing in Hong Kong is such a variety, and we hope to extend into wider scale manufacture of this product in Hong Kong by installing a fixed cartridging plant. This is the situation in which we are in direct competition with Du Pont in bidding for a parcel of land specially designated by the Government on which the plant will be located.

We presume that Du Pont's intention will be to manufacture water-gel formulations based on methylamine nitrate as a sensitiser. This has been the route they have followed in developing a slurry technology.
