The battalion will be transported either:
By RAF transport aircraft which are in area and can be diverted for the task, or which would be despatched from the UK for this purpose.
b. By civil aircraft chartered in Brunei or Hong Kong. CBF Hong Kong has prepared a plan for the move of the Brunei battalion to Hong Kong by chartered civil aircraft. The movement instruction for this is at Annex D. It should be noted that this instruction does not cover the move of the 'on call' infantry support weapons, which would probably have to be lifted by RAF aircraft.
From UK. The primary deployment route for reinforcement from the UK will be the Westabout route. However, if diplomatic Clearances can be obtained at the time for overflight and staging facilities, an Eastabout route may be used with a reduction in deployment times. When only small numbers of reinforcements are required, they may be deployed using Strike Command scheduled flights.
AIR OPERATIONS
18. Aix Operations Summery. An aircraft operations summary for deployment via the Westabout route is at Annex R.
