Offices (Part E, paragraph 2e refers)

A Central Administrative Office is to be provided. It is to

be fitted out to facilitate the efficient handling of the administrative

work of all Departments.

Workshops and Maintenance Spaces

(1) To be rationalised and integrated to the maximum practicable degree

to prevent duplication of equipment and to give economy of man-

power.

(2) To be consistent with the provision of maintenance facilities

necessary to enable ships staff to carry out corrective and

preventive maintenance. These facilities are to include arrangements

for stowage for such maintenance aids as: Ancillary Support

Equipments, Special Tools, Rationalised Tool Kits and CRETE where

such stowage is not more efficiently located in the relevant

equipment compartments.

SHIP UPKEEP PLAN REQUIREMENTS

The NOTE at Part A, paragraph 2c refers.

NOTE

a.

Maximum Continuous Period at Sea or at Immediate Notice

The period during which the Ship must be capable of continuous

operations at sea or at Immediate Notice is 10 days.

b. Notice

(1) Normal notice for sea is 4 hours.

(2) Extended notice is 47 hours.

In order to ensure that sufficient craft are available during a period of Tension/Confrontation, the usual notice during a LSP will be 8 hours (Part A Paragraph 2c NOTE refers).
