Appendix 1 to NSR 7015 Expanded Statement Part B
DSWP(N) have forwarded the following general comments in response to the first
draft of NSR 7015 and the decision to fit the Bofors 57 mm L70 Gun and Sperry
SEA ARCHER 1 Fire Control System. They indicate the aspects of this fit which
have yet to be resolved. Part B, paragraph 2 refers.

AMMUNITION
a.
57 mm BOFORS
Size and composition of War/Practice ammunition outfits
to be decided.
b.
Ammunition embarkation, magazine stowage and Supply to
Gun arrangements to be decided.
c.
NBCD, RADHAZ and RATTAM requirements for ammunition to
be agreed.
d.
Requirement for illuminating rockets, either Bofors 57 mm
or UK 2 in. to be decided.
a. to c. above with respect to rockets to be agreed.
FIRE CONTROL
8. How to meet the stabilisation requirements for SEA ARCHER 1.
It would appear that the MODN) NCS1 equipment would be suitable,
in which case NCS1 would also cover the navigation requirements
at present being met by an AB Mk 12 Compass.

Are the outputs of range and bearing from the Navigation
Radar suitable to provide inputs to SEA ARCHER 1 for:
c.
(1) Blind Gun Direction?
(2) Blind Auto Tracking in Surface?
(3) Range information for both surface and AA
prediction?
Aspects 2a. and 2b. are currently giving cause for
