Against the background of these factors the report is to:
器 Summarise current Priority 2 commitments and in general
terms outline possible future cnes over the next five years.
b.
Assess the capability to undertake these commitments
and the likely effect on the United Kingdom's contribution
to NATO, and to indicate the additional resources and/or
re-organisation that would be required to undertake these
commituents without adverse effect on the United Kingdom'a
contribution to NATO.
4. The report is to reach the Chiefs of Staff by the middle of
October 1978.
