UK CAPABILITY FOR PRIORITY 2 COMMITMENTS
DRAFT TERMS OF REFERENCE
In The Defence Policy Staff is to review, in consultation with the
Central Military Staffs, the Service Departments, the Defence
Secretariat and the FCO, the United Kingdom capability for fulfilling
Priority 2 commitments.

The review is to take account of:

The definitions of Priority 1 and 2 commitments set out
in COS 10/75.
b. Changes in United Kingdom commitments bearing upon
Priority 2 tasks since 1975.
C. Changes in the threat since 1975.
d.
Priority 2 operations undertaken since 1975 and the
extent to which they have impinged on the UK's contribution
to NATO.
e.
Possible future developments which might alter the pattern
of demands and provision for Priority 2 commitments.
