One Attack Submarine (CON
2 Frigates and FA Support were covertly deployed to
the South Atlantic for six weeks.

Bermuda. In response to a deteriorating Internat
Security situation an ad-hoc force of.80 infantry from
Belize and a Spearhead Company from UK were in Bermuda
over a three week period in December.

Kolwezi.
One VC10 and 3 Herculos aircraft were
deployed to Africa during the Kolwezi evacuation.' A
total of 130 servicemen were flown to Lusaka.

Logistic Support for UNIFIL and airlift of Fijian
contingent.
Additionally, the RN and RAF have participated in, or stood by to take
part in Service Assisted Evacuations from Phnom Penh, Saigon, Angola
(1975) and Beirut (1976). Moreover there have been several occasions
when i Ships nave been diverted to the SW Pacific, the S Atlantic
and to various parts of the Carribbean in anticipation of developing
emergencies.
