ROYAL BRUNEI MALAY REGIMENT

25. Under the terms of the 1971 Agreement between the United Kingdom and Brunei, HMG are responsible for giving advice on training matters to the Royal Brunei Malay Regiment. This advice is to be provided by the Commander UK Garrison Brunei through the British High Commissioner.

Your administrative and training directive to the Commander UK Garrison Brunei is to make these responsibilities clear.

KOREA

27. The Head of the Commonwealth Liaison Mission (British Defence Attaché) is responsible for the administration of the Mission. In general, maintenance of the Mission is through the United States Army. However, logistic and personnel matters, other than those which are of a purely Australian or New Zealand nature, should be dealt with through your headquarters.

You are to provide a ceremonial detachment of British troops from your land forces in Hong Kong as the British Contingent to the United Nations Command Korea ceremonial honour guard. This detachment is to be under the command of the British Defence Attaché whilst in Korea. In the event of disturbances or an emergency in Korea it should be employed in a defensive role under the orders of the British Defence Attaché, as agreed by HM Ambassador in Seoul, until further instructed.
