I am writing to confirm that I shall leave Hong Kong on the evening of . April 21. After a weekend at home, I shall present myself at the Department
of Trade on the afternoon of Tuesday April 25. This will give me an opportunity to have a short talk with you and with Jim Wilks before the CBI seminar on Wednesday April 26.

I understand that the seminar arranged at the London Chamber of Commerce on 4 May has been cancelled, This seems sensible given that the CBI will be running their show only a week before. Otherwise I confirm that I shall fulfill engagements at Derby on 3 May, in Belfast on 9 May, in Manchester on 11 May and at Birmingham on 12 May.

Unless you see objection I shall make my own arrangements as it involves telexing to the various Managing Directors who have called through here in recent months. I shall also call on Michael Casey at British Shipbuilders in London. I hope it is agreed that I draw up my own programme so that I can make the best use of my limited time in the UK. I aim to keep the long weekend from May 5-8 free so that I can pay a brief visit to my mother in the West of England.
