As I think you know, I am leaving here for
some leave on 19 August. I have written to Robin
saying that I would look in at the Office on Monday, 21 August but he will of course be on leave.

I hope it will be convenient if I look in
to see you at about 10.30 on that Monday morning.
After seeing you and anybody else in Hong Kong & General Department, I will then go along to FED. Subject to your views, I thought I would leave any
other calls, such as paying my respects to Hugh Cortazzi, until the latter part of my leave, just
before my return to Hong Kong.
