MEETING WITH ACTING SECRETARY FOR CIVIL SERVICE (MR AJ HUNTER)
The SATA Dispute
1. The dispute betwen the Hong Kong Government and their Shorthand and Audio Typists Association would seem to have been resolved by the Government's decision to conduct a new pay review.
It would be useful to know if any further difficulties are anticipated with SATA.
Use of Colonial Regulations
2. Mr Hunter wrote earlier this year seeking our agreement to a new set of conditions for the use of Colonial Regulations in disciplinary cases. We are still discussing the proposals with the Legal Advisers but expect to be able to agree with most of them.
