You will also be interested to know that, before sending our telegram No. 1102 of 15 September, the Governor discussed the invitation with Sir Y K Kan, the Senior Unofficial Member of Executive Council. I was not present but the meeting lasted for two hours! As a former PA, the Governor naturally saw no need for me to attend the Executive Council meeting on 19 September and I have not yet had an opportunity to talk with anyone who attended.
