but there is no reason to believe that this is due to any blockage in the channels of communication. We also meet socially. The present Director, Li, and his colleagues whom we deal with most, came to dinner at my house last week and we had a particularly relaxed and friendly evening during which Li told me, amongst other things, that he wished the Hong Kong Government would sometimes be less precipitate and avoid giving opportunities for people like Mrs Elsie Elliott to interfere! I hope the relationship which has gradually been built up over the past few years will not be affected by the new management. So far I have no reason to believe that it will be.
