.1 Handling charges for 190 Chinese students to Britain in 1979/80 building up to 475 in 1982/83 and 950 per annum from 1984/85.
1.2 Recruitment and administrative costs of 110 teachers (70 outposted and 40 in the Peking or Shanghai Institute) and managerial personnel.

Handling charges for: -
1.3.1 Exchange Scholars
(25 students per annum up to 1982/83 and 50 per annum thereafter).
1.3.2 British ELT Teams to China
(up to 14 teams per annum).
1.3.3 Academic Links
(20 each way in early years building up to
60 per annum in 1985/86).
1.3.4 Study Visits Following Conferences
