Purpose

To co-opt new members to the llousing Authority's Committees.

Progress Made and Present Position

Changes in the membership of Committees of the Housing Authority were announced on 24th March 1978.

Next Quarter Targets

2.Home Ownership:

Legislation.

To empower the Authority to build, sell and menage Home Ownership flats.

The Housing (Amendment) (No.2) Bill was read for the first and second time on 26th April, 1978.

To enact the bill.

Home Ownership: Conveyancing.

To prepare conveyancing documents, to define the rights, interests and obligations of vendor and buyer and of owners among themselves.

The documents were discussed by the Home Ownership Committee of the Authority on 27th April 1978 and were approved.

o submit the documents to the Registrer General an the attorney General, for approval.

Home Ownership: frivate bector

To invite private developers to develop certain sites under the Hone Ownership Scheme.

Tenders for private sector participation to develop two sites at Yau Tong and Tuen Mun were published in the Government Gazette on 28th April 1978. Tenders must be submitted before noon, 28th July 1978. A special board chaired by Secretary for Housing will cor sider the tenders.
