Release of land at Lyemun, Shamshuipo and Bowring Camp.
The 4/5 months "slippage!! reported last quarter has been reduced slightly and a further advance is aticipated. The programme is tight and pressure is being maintained to meet the target date.
Proposals for reprovisioning and release of Lyemun, Shamshuipo and Bowring Camps and MSQs in Kowloon and some additional works have been approved. A A detailed programme of works is being prepared.
Keep up pressure and. identify any other delay elements.

To monitor legal immigration from China and to limit the number to an acceptable lovel.

Strategy for an approach to Chinese authorities agreed between PA,S for S and D of I.
Clear Representation to HMG with H.E. and then despatch to FCO
(a) To secure NCNA agreement
to reduction in the number of legals entering. (b) To consider steps which
can be taken to reimpose immigration control at Lo Wu.
(c) Continue to monitor
legal immigration from China.
