Purpose
To provide up-to-date information on the present and future availability of land for all purposes in a programme to be cstablished and in operation by the end of 1978.
Progress Made & Present Position
(a) CSC has agreed the formation of a
strategic planning unit in Environ- ment Branch. Staff request has been made to Finance Branch.
(b) The Special Committee on Land
Production has shortlisted potential development arcas and investigations are under way.
Next Quarter Targets
(a) Strategic planning
unit :
(i) initiate
recruiting
procedures pending approval of posts; (ii) devise, in
consultation with
other departments and perhaps with outside advice, main programme of unit's work.
(b) Submit to LDPC data on demand in various land use categorics and planning comments on newly identified potential development
arcas.
(c) Reconvenc Special
Committee to review position on potential development areas.
