Purpose
(a) To define the location and
boundaries of country parks and special areas.
(b) To administer and control
countryparks and special areas.
Progress Made & Present Position
(a) Lantau North and Pat Sin Leng
Country Parks were designated in August. The intention to desig- nate areas at Tai Lam, Tai Mo Shan anu Lam Tsuen vas gazetted in August, and the intention to designate an area at Ma On Shan was gazeited in October. Work is in hand on the disignation of Ma On Shan Special Area.
(b) (i) AFD has prepared a 4-year
pro ramme for the implementa- tion of country parks staffing.
(ii) The provision of additional
posts and the recruitment and training of country parks staff is in progress.
Next Qarter Targets
(a) Desi nate Tai Lam,
(b)
Tai Mo Shan and Lam Tsuen Country Farks by December and Ma On Shan Country Park by January.
Monitor implementation of the AFD country parks staffing program e, liaisin, with Finance an Civil Service Branches to ensure provision of the necessary funds and staffing resouces.
