To enact new legislation to control pollution.
(a) Proposed Water Pollution, Air
Pollution, Noise Abatement and Solid Waste Disposal Ordinances were set out by the consutants, Environmental Resources Ltd. (Ed) in July 1977 and amended following discussions with the Environmental Frotection Advisory Committee E-COM) and Government departments Consultation with industry over this proposed legislation has been completed for the Water Pollution Control Crdinance, which is now with the Law Drafts- man. In view of the fiarly extensive changes made to the
EL legislative draft in the process of law drafting, con- sultation with industry or future environmental protection legislation is to be based
upon the Law Draftsman's first draft rather than the ERL draft.
(a) (i)
put the Water Pollution Control Bill to LegCo by December;
(ii) complete consulta- tion with industry
on the Air Pollution Control draft by December for dis- cussion in PCOM pr ior to Law Drafting in November;
