Selection Boards for appointment. The Public Services
Commission has agreed to the recommendation and additional
recruitment posts are being created so that offers for
appointments to all successful candidates may be made
in early August.
These recruits are expected to report
for duty on 1st October.

The Public Services Commission has agreed to
offering appointment to the best 8 candidates recommended
by the Board constituted under the auspices of the FCO.
Subject to the completion of recruitment formalities,
these candidates are expected to arrive in Hong Kong in
late September.

The proposed amendment to section 7 of the Pensions
Ordinance (Cap. 89) to clarify the position with regard
to the payment of pensions to officers who are compulsorily
retired under various Colonial Regulations will be put to
the Legislative Council at the beginning of its next session.
11.
The Commissioner Against Corruption has asked
for a review of the current proposal to appoint a full-time
Assisting Officer to help Heads of Departments to process
disciplinary cases and to reduce delays. He considers that
the number of disciplinary cases being dealt with is too
