Notes:

These figures do not include the contributions from the Urban Council which currently in 1978-79 sets aside $12 m. for the promotion of cultural activities including the Festival of Asian Arts, the International Film Festival, subsidies to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Society, the Hong Kong Arts Festival Society, the Chinese Orchestra and the Chinese Repertory Theatre.

Neither do these figures include a $10 m. Trust Fund on Music established by a donation from the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club which proceeds are used towards the promotion of music. This Trust is administered by the Music Administrator's Office which was set up in September 1977 with the specific objective of promoting instrumental music training in Hong Kong.
