These figures only relate to the provisions of libraries in the New Territories. The Urban Council currently runs 10 public libraries in the urban areas including the City Hall Library and a Music Listening Library. In the next 6 years, the Urban Council is planning to open a further 11 public libraries in the urban areas. The cost of these 11 libraries is not yet know.
This project is the Hong Kong Arts Centre which is privately financed and run.
