I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Mr. Augustine CHUI Kam, JP, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be an Official Member of the Legislative Council with effect from 20th April 1978 during the absence from the Colony of Mr. J. C. C. Walden, JP.

This is the first provisional appointment to the Legislative Council for Mr. Chui. He is now acting as Director of Home Affairs.
