I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed the Honourable James WU Man-hon, OBE, JP, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure with effect from 1st June 1978 to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council during the absence from the Colony of the Honourable Oswald CHEUNG, CBE, QC, JP.

Mr. Wu's previous appointment referred to in your despatch HK O11/1 dated 8th September 1977 expired on 6th October 1977 following the return of the Honourable Oswald CHEUNG, CBE, QC, JP.

Copies of the instrument of appointment and the Gazette notice promulgating the appointment are attached.
