I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed the Honourable D. Akers-Jones, CMG, JP, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, with effect from 6th July 1978 to be temporarily an Official Member of the Executive Council during the absence from the Colony of the Honourable I. M. Lightbody, CMG, JP.

Mr. Akers-Jones' previous appointment referred to in your despatch HKK 011/1 dated 3rd August 1977 expired on 9th September 1977 following the return of the Honourable I. M. Lightbody, CMG, JP.
