I have the honour to inform you that, following receipt of your telegram dated 8th July 1978, I have appointed the Honourable D. Akers-Jones, CMG, JP, to be an Official Member of the Executive Council with immediate effect until 31st August 1980 vice Mr. I. M. Lightbody, CMG, JP, consequent upon his retirement from the Civil Service.

Mr. Akers-Jones' provisional appointment to the Executive Council referred to in my despatch dated 10th July 1978 in CR 6/1136/71 IV is hereby superseded.

Copies of the instrument of appointment and of the Gazette notice promulgating the appointment are attached.
