I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed the Honourable James WU Man-hon, OBE, JP, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure with effect from 11th September 1978 to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council during the absence from Hong Kong of the Honourable Oswald CHEUNG, CBE, QC, JP. I have also appointed the Honourable LO Tak-shing, OBE, JP, to be provisionally an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council with effect from 13th September 1978 during the absence from Hong Kong of Dr. the Honourable Harry S. Y. FANG, OBE, JP.

Mr. Wu's previous appointment referred to in your despatch HK 011/2 dated 13th June 1978 expired on 26th June 1978 following the return of the Honourable Oswald CHEUNG, CBE, QC, JP.

Mr. Lo's previous appointment referred to in your despatch HK 011/1 dated 17th October 1977 expired on 11th October 1977 following the return of the Honourable Sir Yuet-keung KAN, CBE, JP.
Copies of the instruments of appointment and of the Gazette notices promulgating the appointments are attached.
