NOTES FOR SUPPLEMENTARIES

DEFENSIVE

IN THE DEPENDENT TERRITORIES

The question of whether or not dependent territories should be

allowed to retain capital punishment raises complex issues. It

remains the Government's intention to seek Parliament's views

in due course.

If pressed 7 It seems very unlikely that there will be time

for a debate on this question in the coming Session.
