CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IN THE DEPENDENT TERRITORIES
1. As agreed on the telephone I attach a copy of our latest review of outstanding cases. The only significant change is that the Greenaway case in Montserrat is not now likely to be considered by the Governor's Mercy Committee until after the General Election there on 23 November (see FCO telegram number 15 Personal 35 to Montserrat copy attached).
HKG 380/62:
The Clayton Raynor case in Bermuda is potentially the most difficult of the three. You will see that the trial is due to begin on 24 November, two days after Miss Lestor's Parliamentary Question is down for oral answer. We were informed of this date last month and I do not think there is any need to confirm it.
