CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IN BERMUDA :

LETTER FROM THE GENERAL SECRETARY OF THE LABOUR CLUB, SCHOOL OF ORIENTAL AND AFRICAN STUDIES

1. In his letter of 29 May to the Secretary of State, Mr Greg Lee, General Secretary of the Labour Club of the School of Oriental and African studies, expresses dissatisfaction with Mr Stephen's reply of 19 April to his letter of 4 April about capital punishment in the dependent territories. Mr Lee's latest letter concentrates on Bermuda and bears signs of having been influenced by the attitudes of the extreme left wing of the Bermuda Opposition Progressive Labour Farty.

2. I submit a draft reply from the Secretary of State, which has been agreed with Hong Kong and General Department.
